With all events of life, high or low, good or bad, a common thread is that each happening is also accompanied by a need for decision making.
It’s a daunting task, but teams of dedicated volunteers at Dunbar First Baptist Church are sorting and tagging hundreds of clothing items and some household goods for the church’s semiannual Clothes Closet.
Philippians 2:5-8 “Have this mind among yourselves, which is yours in Christ Jesus, who, though he was in the form of God, did not count equally with God a thing to be grasped, but emptied himself, by taking the form of a servant, being born in the likeness of men. And being found in human form, he humbled himself by becoming obedient to the point of death, even death on the cross.”
Well, we have had a great and challenging time with the series around the idiom “heaven”. Lives were changed thru these sermons! God has laid on my heart to do a series of sermons on the idiom of “hand”.
Merriam-Webster dictionary defines “idiom” as an expression that cannot be understood from the meanings of its separate words but has a separate meaning of its own: a form of a language that is spoke in a particular area and that uses some of its own words, grammar, and pronunciations.
Keep thy tongue from evil, and thy lips from speaking guile.
Depart from evil, and do good; seek peace, and pursue it.
This is exactly what the word of God does in our lives, it builds our holy faith. If we are not in The Book, we will find our faith choked out and dead.
Be in reverence of God, love Him with all your heart, soul, mind, and strength.
I find that it is very healthy to have hobbies, the problem is when those hobbies become a necessity.
