I went to physical therapy the other day. When I got there, the girl asked me if I wanted to pay my copay. Since it wasn’t the same lady as usual, I decided I would have a little fun, so I said “No.” She looked up at me. The other workers who were standing there with us all laughed after I gave her a big smile.

In reality, I was glad to pay for it. You see, practically nothing worth value comes for free. We pay for vacations, fairs entrance fees, movies, eating out, kids’ costs for activities, etc. It all comes with a price tag.

Yet, sometimes, when we come to church, we think it comes for free.

I’m glad God knew what He was doing when He set up His plan to support His church. He said the support comes from His people, His church. We call it the tithes and offerings. God said in 2 Corinthians 9:7 – Each of you should give what you have decided in your heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver.

I enjoy giving to the Lord’s work because I know the value of knowing Jesus and growing as a Christian.

I have watched God bless in so many ways over the years when we gave first and then trusted Him to meet all our needs. He has NEVER failed us once!

If you are a part of our church and are not a faithful giver, I hope that you will seriously pray and consider what God wants you to give. He wants to bless us and He does in greater ways when we regularly, generously and graciously give.

If you have questions about what the Bible says about giving, I would be glad to sit down together with you and take a look at God’s plan found in His Word.
Blessings,
Pastor David
